  4. Current situation CWC • 3 out of 4 faculties have HE provision • Delivered at 3 out of 5 centres Russell Group & CBI • Expected HE budget cuts of 20-25% • Increase fees from £3.2K to £5K • 50% of young people to HE by 2010; abandon aim

  5. Steer • Increase income from HE • HE in all faculties • Increase internal progression to HE provision* • Strengthen progression routes • Develop niche markets • Build on current strengths, transpose models • Risk assessment

  6. Targets • FE focus is on progression to level 3 • Targets for foundation learning tier, level 2, level 3 • Use targets as catalyst for change

Curriculum steer • Design foundation degrees to have longer shelf life • Design to maximise students’ opportunities CPD modules, professional qualifications, full qualification FD, BSc, MSc • Accessible modes of delivery • Curriculum materials to VLE • Develop procedures & capacity for quick response • Increase awareness of global economy needs

Use as magnet from key stage 3 into lifelong learning • Dream – pan London planning around niche markets referring to employees, employers, lifelong learning networks, sector skills councils, HE, FE
