How to show ownership in French • 1st way – DE/D’ • Review: • ‘s & s’ does not exist • Use de/d’ = of • The boy’s mother • Reword – the mother of the boy • Translate – la mère du garçon • 2nd way – possessive adj. • Adjective – describes a noun • Show ownership • Must agree: number/gender • Placed BEFORE the noun • Do not use definite or indefinite articles

  4. 3 ways to say MY • Mon – masculine singular • My brother - mon frère • Ma – feminine singular • My sister – ma soeur • Mes – plural • My parents – mes parents MY

  5. 3 ways to say YOUR • Ton – masculine singular • your brother - ton frère • Ta – feminine singular • Your sister – tasoeur • Tes – plural • your parents – tes parents Your (informal)
