  2. Impunity • Originates from the word punish • Means Freedom from punishment • Montresor desires to punish with impunity

  4. Repose • Noun meaning Sleep; calm; peacefulness; to lie prone • Here Montresor is referring to the the corpses that fill the walls of the wine cave
