  1. Equivalent Fractions of regions and number lines If I spent 5 dimes and you spent 2 quarters, we would both be spending 50 centers. Even though the coins look different they total the same amount of money. In this lesson, you will see fractions that look different but may equal the same amount.

  2. Problem #1 • Jack and Jill use rain gauges the same size and shape to measure rain at the top of a hill. Jack uses a rain gauge marked in fourths of an inch. Jill’s gauge measures rain in eights of an inch. On Thursday, Jack’s gauge measured 2/4 inches of rain. They both had the same amount of water, so what was the reading on Jill’s gauge on Thursday?
