  4. Hebrews 11:30-31 & James 2:25 • Heb 11:30-31 ~ By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they had been encircled for seven days. By faith Rahab the harlot did not perish along with those who were disobedient, after she had welcomed the spies in peace. • James 2:25 In the same way, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by anotherway?

  5. The Courage of Rahab’s Faith • Rahab was an Amorite • Deuteronomy 9:4 "Do not say in your heart when the LORD your God has driven them out before you, "Because of my righteousness the LORD has brought me in to possess this land,' but it is because of the wickedness of these nations that the LORD is dispossessing them before you.

  6. The Courage of Rahab’s Faith • Josh 2:1, 9-16 • “The LORD your God, He is God in heaven above and on earth beneath.” (Josh 2:11) • Josh 6:22-25 “…Rahab the harlot and her father's household and all she had, Joshua spared; and she has lived in the midst of Israel to this day, for she hid the messengers whom Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.”

  7. God is a God of U-Turns • Thief on the Cross • Paul • Corinthians • Ephesians • You & Me • Rahab – Faith Hall of Fame Rahab was a Harlot! • What about the meaning of this designation “harlot?” • Just a hostess or innkeeper? • Harlot comes from the Greek word “porne”

  8. Boaz Called Rahab Mom • “And Salmon begat Boaz...” (Ruth 4:21). • It seems clear that Rahab was a good mother to her son Boaz. • I believe that we can look at the life and character of Boaz and evaluate Rahab’s competence as a mother.

  9. Boaz Called Rahab Mom • The Dignity and Disposition of Rahab’s Son - Boaz • Ruth 2:1 ~ Now Naomi had a kinsman of her husband, a man of great wealth, of the family of Elimelech, whose name was Boaz. • Ruth 2:4-13 • Boaz was good to his servants. He showed kindness to those around him.

  10. Rahabthe Godly Mother • The Devotion Of Rahab’s Son. • Ruth 3:10 Then [Boaz] said, [to Ruth] "Blessed are you of the LORD, my daughter! For you have shown more kindness at the end than at the beginning, in that you did not go after young men, whether poor or rich. • Boaz shows a devotion to honor, particularly in desiring to raise up the name of the dead of the house of Elimelech. • Ruth 4:11-17 – The Blessing of the Elders of the City.

  11. Boaz Called Rahab Mom • Could it be that when Boaz was growing up, Rahab would sit him on her lap and tell him the story of how God had destroyed her whole hometown and spared her life because of her faith? • Boaz was devoted to honor, devoted as a husband; because of that godly mother, devoted to God! • What does the faith of your children say about your faith?

  12. Rahab the Godly Mother! • If God can take a harlot like Rahab and transform her into a godly mother, then BY FAITH, God can help us too! • “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6) • Ephesians 6:4 … bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

  13. This do in remembrance of Me!-Jesus
