Annotated & Interactive Manifest Destiny Poster • Objective: Tell the story of American Manifest Destiny by creating a descriptive map • Directions: Create an annotated/interactive map of Manifest Destiny • Draw the map & show/tell what’s going on in each section • Resources: Red “Americans” textbook & your notes • Textbook Chapters: 7 & 9 • You must also have a series (min. of 3) of diary entries from 2 of the following: • Short diary entries along the trails • Native American perspectives • Lewis & Clark expedition • Alamo experience • Gold Rush experience • Things that must be included: • Title & Definition of Manifest Destiny • All territories & major geographical features labeled • Reasons people traveled West • Oregon Trail • Mormon Trail • Alamo • Mexican American War • 54-40 or Fight • Trail of Tears • Plight of Native Americans • Plight of Mexicans • Lewis & Clark Expedition • Treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo • Adams-Onis Treaty • North & Southern Economies • 6 images • Gold Rush
