  4. Own the Dream Organization by Adam Luna - Jose Patino is a man who has a degree in mechanical engineering. - Worked part time in a construction company that paid him cash under the table. -After obtaining his permit he applied for jobs at nine engineering firms, in which none of them accepted. -Most of them did not want a temporary worker. - There is an initial excitement of applying for a job with the work authorization, but it is beingreplaced by frustration and disappointment. - They usually end up with first time jobs. Gonzalez, Daniel. (2013, August 13). A year later, immigrants face DREAM Act’s limits. usatoday. 5. NYC Government page -New Immigrant Outreach Unit (NIOU) -This is designated to serve specific communities by forming relationships, establishing trust, and helping to mediate and respond to issueswithin the community. It helps to diffuse as many problematic situations as possible and allows for a “safer” environment. - NIOU serves as a direct link between the police and the communities - There is a big fear concerning law enforcement and deportation. - Such fear of being deported to their home countries leads to problems to the people that have been raised in the United States and do not know anything about their home country.

  6. Undocumented High School Graduates -About 4,500 undocumented students graduate from NY high schools every year. -Only 5% earn a college degree. - There is a constant problem; high school graduates know nothing other than what they have learned in the United States. - There is stress and anxiety of being sent away from their “home”; leading to people having lack of concentration, fear of being socially denied, and family problems.

  7. Eduardo: Getting More in Touch with the People - I hope to inform you guys of what goes on with the undocumented immigrants that are under stress and face a lot of problems throughout their lives. - To show that the immense feeling of stress can lead to people experiencing health problems that affect their well being. - Make you understand a little bit more about the people who face the issues in their everyday lives, instead of focusing more on the Dream Act itself.

  8. The Dream Act’s Narrow Defeat - Strong emotions towards the pass of the Dream Act - Many people who support the Dream Act became enraged with the passing. - How this passing is going to contribute to the problems undocumented immigrants are going to face. With the Dream Act not becoming a law it shows no hope of helping undocumented immigrants and proceeds to treat these people as if they are not worth it. Mckinley, Jesse. (2014, March 23). 9. What kinds of Stress are present to Undocumented Immigrants - For some undocumented Immigrants the Dream Act means everything to them, with the absence of this act they live in constant fear of being taken away from their normal lives - Without having financial aid from the state many undocumented immigrants have to have a job and attend school at the same time, and without it they would be unable to pay for tuition. - There is a never ending fear of being caught by the Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE). - The idea that they are all alone in the world, and nobody can help them. - Government is taking a long time to accept that their “existence”. Contant reminder that that are not part of the United States - Problems within school institutions or the home environment. - Making payments and making deadlines

  10. Health Issues - All of the reasons mentioned before can drastically affect a person’s well being, and disrupt their natural thinking. - Being pushed to the edge can make someone choose irrational choices in life - With all of the stress and anxiety building up on undocumented immigrants it can lead them to experience depression, anger, paranoia, forgetfulness, instability, and many other things. - Keep in mind that anyone can experience these symptoms, but undocumented immigrants have to deal with the fear of being caught and deported into a place far away from home, and they would be alone. - Stress ultimately, bring down a person’s confidence to keep going in their lives - It is very important to be aware of the Dream Act itself and be knowledgeable on what is going on with it, but it is just as important to pay attention and give care to those that need help and are depending on the Dream Act to pass. - Health can deteriorate which includes their mental and physical states. But it can also ruin relationships and hinder trust. - When stress takes control the person under the strong emotions can very likely injure themselves in an attempt to take their own lives.
