What are community forests?

“Any forestry operation managed by a local government, community group, or First Nation for the benefit of the entire community” (province of B.C.)


Community forests

  • Through the “Forestry Revitalization Plan” and timber allocation, the BC government is dedicated to diversifying the forest economy and creating new opportunities.

    • Approx. 1.2 million cubic metres of timber will be available for small tenures i.e. community forests & woodlots.
