  1. Access Node ANCP MIBANCP WGIETF 67 – San Diego November 5-10, 2006draft-decnodder-ancp-mib-an-00.txt Stefaan De Cnodder Moti Morgenstern

  2. History: new draft • July 2006: discussion at IETF66 meeting • start the work on ANCP MIB for access nodes • call for contributors • Stefaan De Cnodder / Moti Morgenstern • October 2006: first draft submitteddraft-decnodder-ancp-mib-an-00.txt • ANCP MIB for the Access Node • MIB for NAS is not part of this document

  3. Overview MIB • The MIB manages Access Node Control Sessions • 2 tables are defined • ancpAnSessionConfigTable • ancpAnCurrentSessionTable • 2 notifications to indicate ANCP session state changes • 3 groups are defined • 2 textual conventions • GsmpSubVersion • AnSessionCapabilities • other textual conventions taken from other MIBs (e.g., GSMP-MIB)

  4. ancpAnSessionConfigTable • to configure ANCP sessions to a particular NAS • Attributes: • attributes to identify the NAS: IP address and type • attributes to configure properties of the ANCP session • example: capabilities, version, retry timers for transport protocol, ... • Index of the table • is unsigned32 (sessionId) • stand-alone attribute (ancpAnNextSessionId) to get an unused sessionid

  5. ancpAnCurrentSessionTable • to show the operational data of each ANCP session • example: negotiated capabilities, version, ... • each row created/deleted in ancpAnSessionConfigTable results in a row being created/deleted in this table • Index is taken from ancpAnSessionConfigTable

  6. Notifications • Notifications are generated when the state of an ANCP session changes: • ancpSessionDown: from UP to DOWN • session goes operational down • session is deleted from ancpAnSessionConfigTable • ancpSessionUp: from DOWN to UP

  7. Next Steps • Make in line with latest framework and requirements draft, in particular new section on “management related requirements” • partitions • What about NAS MIB? • framework/req stable enough to start MIB? • new MIB or one MIB for AN and NAS? • Comments!
