  2. Monthlysamplingsince Jan 2011 in 0-400 m water column • Ultra-pathabsorptionmeasurements in the range 200-735 nm N=194 QC spectra aCDOM(440) (m-1) CDOM absorptionmeasurements SCDOM (nm-1) • Vertical distribution • Relation aCDOM(440) and SCDOM vsTChla

  3. 1/2 Vertical distribution

  4. 2/2 18/10/2011 05/04/2012 16/07/2012 Vertical distribution • MaximaofaCDOM(440) are generally at lowerdepthsthanMaximaofTChla + pheo a . Depthofmaximavariesaccordingto the season. • The distancebetweenaCDOM(440) and TChla + pheo amaximaseemstofollow a seasonaldynamic.

  5. 1/2 aCDOM(440) vsTchla+pheoa SCDOM vsaCDOM(440) SCDOMvsTchla+pheoa Relation aCDOM(440) and SCDOM vsTChla

  6. 2/2 FIRST OPTICAL DEPTH (N=32) aCDOM(440) vsTchla+pheoa SCDOM vsaCDOM(440) SCDOMvsTchla+pheoa Relation aCDOM(440) and SCDOM vsTChla R=0.74 • WINTER and SPRING: TChla + pheo a aCDOM(440) SCDOM • AUTUMN and SUMMER: TChla + pheo a aCDOM(440) SCDOM

  7. To implement the dataset with most recent measurements. Future Activities • To understand the vertical and seasonal variations of CDOM absorption with respect to seasonal dynamics of environmental factors (PAR, salinity etc). • To understand the seasonal dynamics of CDOM absorption and its relation with biomass with respect to the information on the phytoplankton and bacterial communities. Merci!
