  3. You may use this slide as a template! What is it? In this novel, its about Trent and his friend who plays basketball and then their life makes an awkward turnaround. Attribute: The events that happens makes it a realistic fiction novel Attribute: By Trent doing the things he does in night hoops relate to events in the past that has happened to me. Title: Night Hoops What is your book’s genre? Write it here: Realistic Fiction Attribute: This is a realistic fiction novel because of the specific even that happened in the middle of the novel. That event was when report cards came out and he didn’t have a 2.0 so he couldn’t stay on the team because the requirement was a 2.0 to continue playing. That’s the requirement in real life today. Example: Heart of a champion by Carl Dueker Example: Painting the Black by Carl Dueker Example:On the devils court by Carl Dueker The Attribute bubbles are hyperlinked to the proof slides. This is a hyperlinked to directions!

  4. Attribute: The events that happens makes it a realistic fiction novel. “Instead of passing off. He crashed right into me. Planting his knee into my chest. I toppled backwards, and he came down hard on top of me. My head smacked the asphalt just as the ball rolled in. “That was a charge”(1). “School was out for the holidays and there were no games until after Christmas, but that didn’t mean time off. It was practice, practice, practice-twice a day. O’Leary called it our “readjustment” time. “we can make a run at the league title,” he said. “But these practices are crucial. This is not playtime “(112). “I dumped the ball into Trent. Before the double team reached him, he gave a quick up fake and then spun baseline to the bucket. Their center rotated over, but Trent went up anyway and banked home a twelve footer”(206). Link to definition map!

  5. Attribute: Because Trent, the main character doing what he does in Night Hoops relate to things that could possibly happen in real life. “I'm not starting,” I answered, “but at practice today I did get moved to the second team. I should see some real minutes.” the coach said if I wanted to be on the first team I need to work harder in practice.”(56) “Six points, four assists, two steals, and no turnovers at all. That’s what my best friend told me he wanted before he was going to pass away from his very bad illness.”(157) ). Link to definition map!
