Key questions • Why should there be a sector-specific environmental assessment dispensation for agriculture? • Which standard EA exemptions could be justified for applications for the cultivation of virgin soil? • Can informed and proactive consideration of the environmental aspects of agricultural planning contribute to efficient decision-making?
