  1. Sundry • Higgs unblinding on Friday • Very interesting, needs more data… (using only about ½ of data collected so far) • Discussion of run extension to take place between experimental spokespersons and CERN directorate on Friday • Some discussion has already taken place: some are for and some are against… G. Rakness (UCLA)

  2. Data taken in 2012 This is the full dataset that can be used for the ICHEP conference Note: Last week LHC delivered 1.3/fb. G. Rakness (UCLA)

  3. Downtimes from last week • DAQ power supply failure • Only 4.6/pb lost as the beams were lost • Turbine failure turned off 60 in two stations of CSC • 91/pb affected • ECAL power supply failure • 24/pblost (took longer to diagnose because a [separate] DCS problem was indicating that the crate was ON) • BPXT input card to triggers failed • 5/pb with triggers in a bad state • Temperature sensor failure eventually turned off ECAL cooling • 96/pb with ECAL out My plan: Go over downtimes in 2012 and compare with 2011. My sense is that many of the downtimes this year come from hardware failures. To be confirmed. G. Rakness (UCLA)

  4. To do • Run Coordination • Tomorrow: Finish overhauling shift leader checklist. It’s painful! • https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/CMS/ShiftLeaderInstructionsInProgress • Tomorrow: Help ES+APVe with latency tests • Go over downtimes in 2012 and compare with 2011. My sense is that many downtimes this year come from hardware failures. To be confirmed. • CSC • Put firmware into SVN • Document ALCT/CLCT muonic timing • RAT firmware loading • As well… • Make neutron skims G. Rakness (UCLA)
