English III Do Now – September 6/7, 2012 Through the colonies’ development in the 1700s (the Enlightenment we read about for homework), scientific advances and cultural evolution changed many people’s perception of God and his role in daily life. During the Enlightenment, God’s role was often described as that of a “watchmaker.” In a well-structured paragraph (minimum six sentences), explain how this metaphor explains the deistic view of God that became popular during this time.
