  1. Today we will look at some angle relationships! It takes two to tango! • Vertical Angles • Adjacent Angles • Complementary Angles • Supplementary Angles

  2. Special Angle Pairs: 1) Vertical Angles – the angles formed on opposite sides of intersecting lines. Vertical angles are always congruent 1 <2 and <4 are vertical angles so we know m<2 = m<4 4 2 3

  3. 2) Adjacent Angles – are angles that share a common vertex and a common side. 1 1 2 1 2 2

  4. Complementary Angles – two angles whose sum is 90 degrees Supplementary Angles – two angles whose sum is 180 degrees

  5. Complementary Angles 90 - 60 = X 30 = X 60 X

  6. What is the complement of a 72 degree angle? What is the complement of a 35 degree angle? 18 degrees 55 degrees

  7. Supplementary Angles 180° 360° 38 X X = 180-38 X = 142 degrees
