  1. APPOMATTOX MIDDLE SCHOOLMORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS November 5, 2014

  2. AMS CHEERLEADING AMS Cheerleaders -there will be a game on Thursday.  Bring your warm-ups with you and ride the Activity Bus to ACHS on Thursday.

  3. TRIBUTE TO VETERANS Teachers and Students, the SCA will be creating our annual Tribute to Veterans bulletin board next week.  Please bring in a picture of a veteran from your family for the tribute. 

  4. TRIBUTE TO VETERANS continued Please make sure your name and homeroom teacher’s name is written on the back of the photograph so that it may be returned to you.  Teachers, please feel free also to bring in a photograph of a veteran in your family.  Photos may be given to Mrs. Thomson or Ms. Taylor.

  5. AMS GIRLS BASKETBALL TRYOUTS Any girl interested in signing up for AMS girls basketball, please see Coach Marshall.

  6. CONGRATULATIONS MARCHING RAIDERS Congratulations to the ACHS Marching Raiders for executing their best performance in years at the Brick Capital Classic in Sanford, North Carolina.  Although it was cold, windy, and raining, the students performed and impressed many people in NC.

  7. CONGRATULATIONS MARCHING RAIDERS continued Out of 13 bands in our division, the Raiders finished 2nd with the highest rating possible, a SUPERIOR!  We finished 2nd place in music, 2nd place in percussion, and 2nd place overall. We were the events Grand Champion Runner Up.

  8. CONGRATULATIONS CHORUS MEMBERS This past Saturday, 5 students traveled to Lord Botetourt High School for All-District Chorus Auditions.  Those students were Desire Hamlett, Brianna Scroxton, Shalynn Jefferson-Miller, Emilee Williams, and Annabelle Paulette. 

  9. CONGRATULATIONS CHORUS MEMBERS continued They worked hard in preparation for the audition, and all deserve congratulations for their efforts.

  10. CONGRATULATIONS CHORUS MEMBERS continued We are pleased to share the following news: 7th grader, Shalynn Jefferson-Miller was selected to the Middle School All-District Chorus as a Soprano 2. 

  11. CONGRATULATIONS CHORUS MEMBERS continued She will participate as a member of the All-District Middle School Choir in full day of rehearsals leading up to a final performance on March 7, 2015 at Liberty Christian Academy. 

  12. CONGRATULATIONS CHORUS MEMBERS continued This is the second year in a row Shalynn has been selected to All-District Chorus proving she deserves a spot among the elite vocalists in the district!  Congratulations, Shalynn!!

  13. TWIN DAY WINNERS Congratulations to the following students for winning Twin Day – Dewaine Davin, Corey Hilton, Olivia Hix, and Abby Ranson.  Please see Mrs. Sprouse in Room 207.

  14. AMS BOYS AND GIRLS BASKETBALL TRYOUTS AMS Boys and Girls Basketball tryouts will be held beginning on Monday, November 10th.  In order to try out you must be in academic good standard and have a valid, up-to-date VHSL Physical on file. 

  15. AMS BOYS AND GIRLS BASKETBALL TRYOUTS continued If you need to get a physical to try out, they must be turned in by Friday, November 7th.  Remember, NO PHYSICAL!  NO TRY OUT!!  Any questions, please see Coach Marshall.

  16. PICTURE MAKE UP DAY Picture Make-Up day is scheduled for November 12th at 8 a.m. in the Library. If you need to have a picture taken on picture make-up day, you will need to pick up an envelope from Ms. Anderson.

  17. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Happy Birthday today to Lauryn Foster, Ian Godsey, and Olivia Hix!

  18. MENU Today’s Lunch – Hot Dog on Bun, Loaded Baked Potato with Roll, Deli Sandwich, Chili Beans,TossedSalad, Cupped Fruit, Fresh Fruit, and Milk. Thursday’s Breakfast – French Toast Sticks, Pillsbury Waffles, Breakfast Burrito, Cereal with Graham Cracker with Fresh Fruit, OJ and/or Milk.
