    1. How to Cascade this Training! With Yens Marsen-Luther

    2. Firstly and Most Importantly! You must learn and know the subject you are training. Have the relevant Documents with you! You must feel confident that you know the information on the slides You need to be able to signpost people where they can get information that you do not have Most will be in your handbook If you do not know! Say So!

    3. Participation is the best learning method When you start asking participants to think about the meaning of Safeguarding, Abuse & Vulnerability ensure you give them space There is no right or wrong answer just keep participants on track! Do not let them look up the answer ! If they are floundering offer them some ideas but not the lot!

    4. Remember You are not the Only Nervous One in the room! Some debate is healthy but too much can lead to anarchy. Keep a control of the time! You are not a stand up comic – but humour helps! Relate anecdotes from your experience to highlight relevant issues If you fall behind time do not panic!

    5. Everyone wants to learn and get to the finish The course can be broken into modules of 1 1/2 hours approximately if you do not have a full day Lunch time can always be shortened if you are running a little late and if you are desperate you may wish to reduce the scenarios which participants go through.

    6. Remember The energy that you put into the day will transfer to most participants Look at people who are enjoying the training Speak up when you are near those who are falling asleep Expect a response when you ask a question Enjoy the sessions and other folk will too!
