  1. VOLC NOES By Derek Strong and Teric Hill!!!

  2. Definition • A volcano is basically a mountain except it erupts with a lot of lava and ash!!!

  3. Explanation • Volcanoes have a lot of grass, dirt and ash. The way volcanoes form is that rock from the mantle melts and gets out of weak spots in the crust.

  4. Explanation (part 2…) • Volcanoes also have lots of mud, trees, and rocks!

  5. Causes… Volcanoes erupt because pressure builds up, heat expands, and earth shifts!!!

  6. AWESOME VOLCANOES!!!

  7. Why are volcanoes cool? • Volcanoes are cool because they show that the earth is always at work and that the earth can change easily!

  8. Famous Two famous volcanoes are Mount Vesuvius and Mount Tambora . Mount Vesuvius exploded 2,000 years ago. Mount Tambora erupted in 1815!

  9. Surviving! ☺ There are a lot of ways to survive volcanoes! Iceland sprayed cold water to stop the flowing!

  10. Volcanoes are very hot they can burn a lot of things! 

Vocabulary!!! • Volcano- A mountain that spews lava out of the top • Magma- Lava before it comes out • Earth- The planet we live on!  • Lava- Magma that comes out of the volcano • Burning- When fire destroys buildings, people, and other stuff • Fire- The heat and light of something burning • Explosion- The act of blowing up with a loud noise
