A GOOD RESEARCH QUESTION • addresses the driving question • is grounded in a theoretical framework • is based on previous research • has multiple possible answers and should not be able to be answered from just a web search • is not biased in terminology or position • is simple and manageable • is focussed and clear.

  4. A GOOD HYPOTHESIS Make sure the hypothesis is a prediction Make sure the hypothesis can be tested through an investigation Check the way you worded the hypothesis. A properly worded hypothesis should take the form of an “If ... then ...” statement.
