ENSURING TESTS MATCH TEACHING • Collecting feedback on assessment from teachers & students • Having regular meetings with Ts/CM/TM using feedback forms • Involving teachers in proofreading • Teachers forming a bank of questions • TRUST vs TRAINING • TEACHER INVOLVEMENT INCREASES TEACHER OWNERSHIP • WE CAN’T TEST EVERYTHING WE TEACH

  4. COMBINING OR NOT COMBINING TESTING AND CURRICULUM UNITS? • Curriculum is... • more longsighted • more flexible • oriented to testing for learning • more open to innovatıons • Testing... • has stricter deadlines • is oriented to testing of learning • is more concerned with standardization

  5. RESPONSIBILITIES & ROLES • Members in both units should - have clear roles and job descriptions • A suggestion... - In order to lessen the workload of Testing Unit, should there be a special team for the admin and logistical side of assessment? TEACHERS? SECRETARIES?

  6. RESISTANCE & CONFLICT • We can’t avoid conflict ! but we can benefit from it by.. • Teacher involvement & engagement • Providing rationale for the changes made or not made • Asking for constructive feedback • Asking for contribution

  7. FAMILIARITY WITH DOCUMENTS & COMMON PHILOSOPHY by... • Providing clear and accessible documents to all stakeholders • Vitalizing documents • Discussing related issues in regular staff/level meetings • Getting support from higher admin
