  1. Attendance Counts ! School is not over. All students must be in school by 8:20 everyday! Attendance counts. If your children are not in school learning it has a negative impact on their education. Keep the Promise! Meet with your child’s teacher one time per month. Book of the Month Theme:Science Fiction Primary: “Jimmy Zangwow’s Out of this World Moon Pie Adventure” by Tony DiTerliizzi Intermediate: “Querty Stevens:Stuck in Time with Benjamin Franklin” By Dan Gutman Middle: ”Among the Hidden” By Margaret Peterson Haddix Parents! Students in grades 3 – 7 will be taking their Spring Interim Assessments on May 8, 9, 2007. Reading will be given on May 8, 2007 and Math on May 9, 2007. All students in grades 3 – 7 must be in school for the tests. Vandalism! Parents, some students who walk home are vandalizing private property and homes. Insist on knowing where your children are after school Please be advised that home owners have the right to prosecute offenders who damage their property. PTA Science Board Sale The PTA is selling science boards. Each child in grades 3 – 7 are responsible for an individual science fair project. Please support the PTA and purchase a science board and labels for $6.00 Award Assembly Dates and Times 8:45 A.M. to 9:45 A.M. Pre – K May 17, 2007 Kindergarten May 18, 2007 1st Grade May 21, 2007 2nd Grade May 22, 2007 3rd Grade May 23, 2007 4th Grade May 24, 2007 5th Grade May 25, 2007 6th Grade May 29, 2007 7th Grade May 30, 2007 Home Reading Logs Our school continues to use the District’s Comprehensive Reading Plan For the 2006 – 2007 school year. In grades 1 – 7 students are required to read at least five books each nine week grading period, participate in a designated 30 – minute independent reading period at school and read at home for 30 minutes each day. Parents/Guardians or family members may read to Prekindergarten and Kindergarten children and ask them questions about the stories to help reinforce comprehension School Hours Prekindergarten – grade 1 8:30 – 2:00 Daily Grades 2 – 7 8:30 – 3:00 Daily Wednesday’s 8:30 – 2:00 for all students Mandatory Uniforms At Linda Lentin K – 8 uniforms are mandatory for all students. All students should wear their uniforms daily. Special Calendar Dates May 4, 2007 Science Fair Projects due to your child’s teacher.
