Mr. Claude Baissac will discuss the outlook for the commodity super cycle and how it affects the risk of natural resource nationalization. Mr. Baissac’s extensive project experience and deep understanding of nationalization risk and how to align various stakeholders in natural resource projects makes this an excellent event for anyone interested in commodities, Africa, geopolitical analysis, as well as sustainability and social development. Mr. Claude Baissac Mr. Baissac is a recognised country and political risk expert with a track record of over 15 years in Africa. With senior executive experience in W. Africa, he has over 200 projects in a portfolio including many Fortune 500 and top South African companies. He has worked with leading economic, political and security consultancies. He is a consultant to the World Bank and IFC on investment climate reform and growth policies. He has worked on projects throughout the region, including in Botswana, Cote d’Ivoire, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Mali, Mauritania, Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania, and Togo. He has lived in Cote d’Ivoire, Kenya, Mauritius, Reunion Island and South Africa, and further afield, in France, the U.K. and the U.S. He studies in Reunion Island, the U.K. and the U.S.
