  2. FOLDERS • In your hanging file in crates located beneath the Word Wall • Your folder should contain: • Data Chart • About You Survey • MAP Data Chart • Other important papers.

  3. WARM UPS • 1 Warm Up per Day = 5 Points • Friday = Warm Up Quiz = 10 Points • Pick up Warm Up from the cart at the beginning of the week. • ISAT Material/Review • Day One: Teacher • The Rest: Practice • Sometimes will be group work. • Place in folder when done.

  4. CLASSWORK • I give homework, but it’s not long and can be finished in class. • Work is expected on time. I expect all students to turn in all homework. • 5 Points off for each day late (Pink slip will be filled out) • Until an assignment is turned in, it is a 0 in my gradebook. • Neatness counts; if I can’t read it, I can’t grade it.

Lesson Structure • Challenge Question/3 Act Math Task • Usually group work • Directly relates to real-life situation • Explanation of Challenge Question • Learn the skills (shortcuts for the real-world problem) • Practice Skills • Self-Grade Practice • Short Assessment (Homework Quiz or Performance Task) • Assessment Results • R.R.E. • Retake • Reteach • Enrichment

  6. WHAT TO DO IF YOU’RE ABSENT Email (delinskij@epd86.org) or call (427-5235) to let me know you’ll be gone. Look online (mrdelinskicjhs.weebly.com) for Mr. Delinski’s posted material (If you email me, I can send you the work). Ask/call classmates to see what you missed. Check your folder when you return for work.

  7. GRADING Warm Ups: 5 Points per Day Groupwork: 25 Points Homework: 25 Points (Per Assignment) Homework Quizzes: 100 Points Tests/Unit Assessments: 150 – 300 Points Enrichment Activities: 10 Points Extra Credit

DELINSKI’S MATH CLASSROOM PRACTICES • Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them. • Reason abstractly and quantitatively. • Construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others. • Model with mathematics. • Use appropriate tools strategically. • Attend to precision. • Look for and make use of structure. • Look for and express regularity in repeated reasoning.

  9. Practice Standards Poster • Create a poster using your assigned practice standards. • Your poster must include at least 4 ideas from the practice standards. • Your group will receive the same grade for the poster.
