Ways of Working • Issued procedures/ plans for ways of working since ESHAC 8 • Work environment incident reporting (separate presentation) • Emergency contingency plan (separate presentation) • Site evacuation plan • New Risk Assessment Method Statement (RAMS) process on trial in Accelerator division (separate presentation) • Finalized the underlaying documents to ESS Rules for Electrical Safety • Rules for writing Operating order, • Permit-to-Work, Certificate of commissioning, • Electrical LOTO, • Supervision of Electrical Installation, • Self-inspection programme for Electrical Installation Work, • Inspection of Specific Electrical Equipment .

Office Move • Over 500 peoplemoved from Mediconvillage to site in May and June. • Safetyinspectionscarriedout and active feedback from safetydelegates • FireSafety – Evacuationleaders in all areas appointed and trained. Assemblypointevacuationleadersappointedwhoareresponsible for co-ordinating the information from the evacuationleaders and reportingthis to the rescue services in an emergency

Training the Fire Brigade • Everyworkingday from the 16 April to the 18 May an on-site orientationtraining to the Municipal Rescue Service MRS (RSyd) wasprovided • Around 150 fire fighters trained • The purposeof the tour of the site and in-depth stops at threespecificpointswas to: • allowmembersof the MRS to get familiarwith the ESS site and itsfuture operations; • learnmoreabout risks linked to the intervention, existing and plannedemergencyroutines, • providelogistic information, such as access routes and positions from where to lead an emergency intervention.

IS&LEBT • Support to workpackageleader to prepare risk assessmentdocument • Workcarriedout to support ATEX classificationof area • Assisting to get an approved declaration of conformity according to LVD-, EMC-directive and Swedish legalization regarding high-voltage for the Ion source and LEBT

Electricalwork • Planning to hand-over the operation of Electrical Safety to Engineering and Integration Support division, and focus on govern that ESS follows ESH requirements regarding Electrical Safety according to host state regulations, EU directive, International standards and best practices. • Started development of an electrical safety awareness course; also started the development of training for Electrical Safety Leader and Electrical Operations Leader • Checked and approved that Infrastructure for the Site´s new laboratories and follow electrical safety regulations.

Near FutureDevelopment • Workpermits • Current system paper based and controlled by a varietyofpeople. • Require a system that has a focalpoint to guide people to what is needed and where to go. • Final system will be linked to the new Engineering Asset Management system. • Risk assessment • Need to rationalise a numberof different risk assessmentprocedures. • Need to providetraining and guidance in carryingout risk assessments.
