2. ZERO TO THREE is proud to feature the work of the field through the National Training Institute Each year NTI receives over two hundred responses to its Call for Proposals, with less than 80 slots available for 90 minute field presentations.

3. Critical and timely information (“hot topics”) • Current clinical and applied research • Creative strategies for promoting best practices in infant-family services • Public policies that affect very young children and their families

4. Reviewers with expertise in the proposal’s topic area read and score proposals without identifying information • No program names, specific locations (city, state OK), staff, or affiliate organizations should be included in the abstract or summary • Presenter names and affiliations are hidden during the review process Blind Review Process Proposals not conforming to the standards outlined in the CFP are rejected before review

5. Presentation Proposals Poster Presentations (w/Ignite option) • research models, research findings • program or practice models • early stage of work 90 minute Field Presentations • lessons learned from practice, research or public policy endeavors • case presentations of clinical intervention

6. 90 minute Field Presentations Lessons Learned from Research, Work in Public Policy, or Practice • effective responses to significant current issues • targeted to experienced infant-family professionals • succinct statement of the issue(s) and relevance • reasoning or decision-making process used • contribution of multiple perspectives or disciplines • contributions from families involved in the work • lessons to be learned that have practical value • planned format for the presentation, including specific strategies to encourage engagement and participation

7. 90 minute Field Presentations Case Presentations on Clinical Intervention with a Child or Family • conceptual framework/knowledge base for the clinical approach • process of clinical reasoning and decision-making • description of the way in which the services or approach were individualized • the child's and family's experience, either by having family members as co-presenters or including audio, video, or written commentary/critique from families on the work together • lessons to be learned that have practical value • planned format for the presentation, including specific strategies to encourage engagement and participation

8. Poster Presentations With Ignite Option* *Presenters indicating an interest in presenting a 5-minute Ignite presentation will be considered according to available time • clear statement of the issue or topic • perspectives, methods, and/or service approaches used • context in which the work has taken place or the issue is being confronted • lessons to be learned from the presenter's work that has practical value to NTI attendees

9. Criteria used in scoring and selection • Appropriateness of subject matter to the NTI audience • Demonstration of how it furthers knowledge in the infant/family field (review of current and relevant literature with references) • Potential for informing future research, policy and/or programs • Presentation plan that uses a lively and varied format with audiovisual and other materials to enhance learning • Overall balance of topics within the program
