Rotary Club of Patong BeachWhere we came from… • Chartered in 2001 • Charter President – Senator Phaiboon Upatising • Senator of the Province of Phuket • 2001 – 2004 Founding and establishing of club • 2004 The Tsunami hits Phuket • 2004 – 2009 Active in Thailand’s Tsunami relief, building houses, boats, providing food and water and scholarships for affected children.

  3. Where we are today… • 2010 -- 2013 Provided relief for Japan Tsunami, Thailand Floods, funding Scholarships and many other projects • Now supporting Migrant Workers Children’s Education !

Banjo Learning CentreCherngTalay, Phuket • TheirParents are the backbone of the localconstruction industry • Children live in camps with parents • Parents work all day which means • Lack of Learning • Lack of Laughter • lack of Discipline • Lack of Safety • Migrant children need to learn Thai to be accepted in Thai school system

  10. What are the construction camps likewhere the children live?

  11. The Plan • To improve the children’s lives • By providing teaching aids for teachers • By providing older students as volunteers • By widening their view of the world • By enabling the children to run, play, have fun

  12. The Need -- Salaries for four teachers (Including Thai & English teachers) -- Transportation camp to school -- Milk to improve nutrition -- Volunteer program -- Books, learning materials -- Teaching aids

  13. We need to raise 532,000 Baht(US $16,800) each year to achieve these goals

Your contributions will be used for • Teachers salaries: • 8,000B ($250) x 4 teachers x 12 months 384,000B • Transportation for 50+ children: • Motorcycle taxi, Thai bus: • 8000B ($250) x 12 months 96,000B • Passports and Visas: • 8000B x 2 Burmese teachers x 1 year 16,000B • Miscellaneous- includes art supplies, books, uniforms • 3000B x 12 months 36,000B
