Propane Precooling cycles for increased LNG capacity Introduction LNG faces rapid market growth Today train size is 5 Mtpa of LNG in rundown line Should this capacity be increased to 6 , 8 or 12 Mtpa? Is the C3-MR process the most appropriate? Today’s LNG producers are faced with rapid market growth. To meet this demand and as the result of competition, LNG train sizes have been increasing and have now reached about 5 Million tons per annum. Should train size continue to grow to benefit from the economies of scale? Is propane precooled MR the most appropriate process? These are the questions that we raise.
