The Three Conferences Quebec Conference Fall of 1864 -Planned the birth of a new nation -After quite a lot of debating they decided that the provincial governments should retain a lot of power, thus made the nation a federation -Quebec conference produced seventy-two resolutions and a blueprint for a confederation

Charlottetown Conference Spring of 1864 -Preserved some ties to Great Britain -Residual jurisdiction left to central authority -A bicameral system including a lower house with representation by population (rep by pop) and an upper house with representation based on regional, rather than provincial equality -The appointment of a governor general by the British crown

  4. London Conference 1866 -Approved the 72 resolutions -Finally Canada became it’s own country!

  10. Partner Interviews Tanner Punt I like how safe Canada is compared to other countries. My favourite Canadian is Wayne Gretzky because he is the best hockey player to ever live. Levi Shram I like how Canada is really safe and it is just so great to be Canadian because the weather is great and the crime rate is very low. My favourite Canadian is Alex Burrows. He is a French Canadian but that still counts. He is a really great hockey player and could very well be the best player on the Canucks.
