Homework Policy At the beginning of each week students will receive a homework packet The packet is due on Friday The packets are individually created based on your student’s IEP goals The front cover of the homework packet will have important dates/information about school and classroom events Full Credit: Packet is complete Packet is turned in on time Partial Credit: Packet is not complete Packet is late

  5. ELA Students using Reading Milestones were placed in a Reading Milestones level based on the following criteria . . . the results of his/her placement test previous placement from the end of the 2012-13 school year Students using Reading A-Z will be working at their independent reading level based on the reading assessments given at the beginning of the school year. *Formal Assessment tools being used :DRA2 and AIMSWEB

Unique Learning System / News-2-you Curriculum • Unique Learning System is an online, dynamic, standards-based curriculum specifically designed for special learners. • News-2-you curriculum has students connect with the world through symbol-supported news articles and dozens of activities. News‐2‐You is the national newspaper for special education. • Both programs use instructional targets to bridge between standards and the curriculum content for students with disabilities. Instructional Targets are aligned to the Common Core Standards.

Transition House /Community Trips The Lincoln-Way Transition House is a fully-functional community-based home designed to assist young adults with special needs in their transition from school to adult life. Once a quarter we will be venturing out into the community to practice functional and social skills that will benefit your child for a lifetime.

  10. BOOK MOBILE • The Frankfort Public Library will be coming bi-weekly for a visit • Each student received a schedule • Students must have a valid library card to check out books • The librarian are very kind and will get specific books for the kids • All students are responsible for their own library books
