  1. Exodus 15.22-25 / 16.1-6 22 Then Moses led Israel from the Red Sea and they went into the Desert of Shur. For three days they traveled in the desert without finding water.23 When they came to Marah, they could not drink its water because it was bitter. (That is why the place is called Marah. )24 So the people grumbled against Moses, saying…

Exodus 15.22-25 / 16.1-6 1The whole Israelite community set out from Elim and came to the Desert of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after they had come out of Egypt. 2In the desert the whole community grumbled against Moses and Aaron. 3 The Israelites said to them, “If only we had died by the Lord’s hand in Egypt!

Exodus 15.22-25 / 16.1-6 There we sat around pots of meat and ate all the food we wanted, but you have brought us out into this desert to starve this entire assembly to death.” 4 Then the Lord said to Moses, “I will rain down bread from heaven for you. The people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day.

Exodus 15.22-25 / 16.1-6 In this way I will test them and see whether they will follow my instructions.5 On the sixth day they are to prepare what they bring in, and that is to be twice as much as they gather on the other days.” 6 So Moses and Aaron said to all the Israelites, “In the evening you will know that it was the Lord who brought you out of Egypt…”

  8. Are you choosing to be grateful now or when? t t t t Gift after gift, the Israelites grumble and complain It is extremely contagious It kills their leader There is nothing more destructive than grumbling…it destroys children, families,businesses, churches & marriages

  9. For I do not want you to be ignorant of the fact, brothers, that our forefathers were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea. Are you choosing to be grateful now or when? I Corinthians 10.1

  11. Four Questions… 1 Whom do you make responsible for the gratitude factor in your life (the most crucial question)? …if you plan to grow in a heart of gratitude • if you answer anyone but yourself, you will be waiting a long time to have gratitude

  13. Psalm 100 1Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. 2 Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. 3 Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. 4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise;

  14. Psalm 100 give thanks to him and praise his name. 5 For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.

  15. Colossians 3.17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Be lavish in your expressions of thanksgiving to God

Four Questions… …if you plan to grow in a heart of gratitude 4 What do I do when I am disappointed? • Learn to be defiant in gratitude or you will not be grateful at all • Gratitude will always be “in spite of” something • Do not give your loss more power • Loss can consume your life and • Sadness can cancel every other good thing in your life
