  8. #8 MINE YOUR DATABASE • All of the these folks used to be active members. • Do a survey. • Offer them free membership or a discount on membership. • “Reunion” meeting

  9. #7 BRING A FRIEND PROMOTIONS • Two for one • Half price off • Recognize member bringing friend • Contest

  10. #6 GET “BIG NAMES” TO PROMOTE • Sherrie Dew (woman professional) • Jeff Benedict (author) • Neal Maxwell (Church leader) • Phil Smart (Philanthropist/Community award) • Wally Joyner (athlete)

  11. #5 USE LDS EMPLOYMENT SERVICES • Place more people in more jobs than any organization in the country. • Have hundreds of professionals with whom they are working. • Often have service missionaries • Always have a director • They hold special events; co-sponsor

  12. #4 MIX UP YOUR EVENTS • Lunch is most common • Breakfast is second most common • Fireside • Sporting event • Conference • Charity golf tournament • LDS movie

  13. #3 USE WARD BULLETINS • Must get permission from stake president; but then can get it in every ward bulletin • Ask the Area Seventy • Ask the Regional PR Director

  15. #1 HAVE GREAT SPEAKERS! • Most people decide whether to go to an event based on the quality of the speaker. • The more exciting the speaker the more likely a person is to come. • One good speaker after another creates a “buzz” • Eventually it becomes a “can’t miss it” organization

  16. WHY I HAVE BEEN A MEMBER FOR ALMOST 25 YEARS • I have friends in the organization • I owe the organization a lot • I like the speakers • I find clients • I love the vision
