TARC-TW: Lab Space and Research Staff • Office • Located in Nankang Software Science Park • 350 sqm of lab and office space, including conference, computing and communication facilities • Staff • PhD and MS graduates of National Chiao Tung University, U of Maryland, NTU, U of Texas, NYU, SUNY, and Sydney University

TARC-TW Strategy and Vision • Objectives • Combine Telcordia know-how and brand name with the well-educated workforce and the manufacturing capabilities in Taiwan to develop next generation technologies, prototypes, patents portfolio and new business opportunities • Concentrate on the Asian market (eg.The Great China Exconomic Zone) • Help the transition of Taiwanese industry from OEM/ODM-based economy (low-profit margins) into knowledge-based economy (high-profit margins) • Strategy • Develop next generation core IP technology and prototypes in collaboration with local research institutes and industry in Taiwan • Generate Intellectual Property to protect the investment • Develop advanced products to establish a leading position in the market • Execution • US: initial project planning, organization, and integration • Taiwan: R&D collaboration and execution between TARC-TW, ICL, and III • Frequent exchange visits among researchers in TARC-TW (Taiwan), TARC-PL (Poznan, Poland) and TARC-US (New Jersey)
