  18. The Glorious Home of the Soul • C. 2 Tim. 2:10, “Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.”

  19. The Glorious Home of the Soul • V. It will be glorious because we will forever give glory to God: • A. Praising Him, exalting Him, honoring Him, giving Him honor for His divine and majestic attributes.

  20. The Glorious Home of the Soul • B. We do this now not only in the worship, but also in our daily life. Jn. 15:8, “By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit.”

  21. The Glorious Home of the Soul • C. We will give glory to God, praising Him and serving Him eternally. “Rest,” not inactive, but relieved, freed from everything that causes sadness and pain.

  22. The Glorious Home of the Soul • D. Rev. 14:1-5, Glorious singing!! • V. 2, “like the voice of many waters, like the voice of loud thunder, like the sound of harpists playing on their harps.” • What’s the largest group of brethren you have ever sung with? • “When all of God’s Singers Get Home.” • Why could only 144,000 sing the song?

  23. The Glorious Home of the Soul • VI. How is the glorious heavenly home described? Rev. 21:2-4, 10-11, 18-19, 21-25. • No more tears, pain, sickness, dying… v. 4 • “I make all things new”, v.5. Like new things • Glorious, beyond our “wildest imagination”!

  24. The Glorious Home of the Soul • A. The temple of Diana of the Ephesians was so brilliant that the doorkeeper shouted to the people that entered to protect their eyes. Imagine the Glorious Heavenly Home.

  25. The Glorious Home of the Soul • B. There are many glorious things in the world: gold, silver, precious stones, heaven-ly bodies, oceans, rivers, parks, Aurora Borealis of Alaska (great northern lights).

  26. The Glorious Home of the Soul • C. Also men produce glorious things, architecture, bridges, skyscrapers, but there is no earthly glory that can equal the glory of the Heavenly Home.

  27. The Glorious Home of the Soul • D. The Heavenly Home is compared with the most beautiful, the most valuable things we know in this life… But our Heavenly Home will be a thousand times more glorious.

  28. The Glorious Home of the Soul • VII. It will be glorious because we will be in the presence of the glorious God. Rev. 21:11, “having the glory of God.” This is the explanation. Its glory is God Himself.

  29. The Glorious Home of the Soul • Rev. 21:23, “The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light.” Just imagine!

  30. The Glorious Home of the Soul • B. Rev. 22:5, “There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light.”

  31. The Glorious Home of the Soul • C. 1 Tim. 6:16, “dwells in unapproach-able light, whom no man has seen or can see. To Him be honor and eternal dominion! Amen.”

  32. The Glorious Home of the Soul • VIII. Our personal glory. • A. The purpose of the gospel is that we be “conformed to the image of His Son,” Rom. 8:28-30.

  33. The Glorious Home of the Soul • 2 Cor. 3:18, “beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory.”

  34. The Glorious Home of the Soul • If our character is transformed into the image of Christ, He “will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory,” Phil. 3:21.

  35. The Glorious Home of the Soul • “If indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together,” Rom. 8:17.

  36. The Glorious Home of the Soul • B. Our body will have heavenly glory, 1 Cor. 15:40, “there are also heavenly bodies” with heavenly glory. V. 42, 43, 49, “we will also bear the image of the heavenly.”

  37. The Glorious Home of the Soul • C. Matt. 13:43, “Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father.”

  38. The Glorious Home of the Soul • Conclusion. A. This hope is as a firm anchor of the soul. Having this hope we purify ourselves as He is pure.

  39. The Glorious Home of the Soul • “We know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.” 1 Jn. 3:2, 3.

  40. The Glorious Home of the Soul • B. That which prepares us for the Glorious Heavenly Home is the glorious gospel: “according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God.” 1 Tim 1:11.

  41. The Glorious Home of the Soul • Not simply by hearing the gospel o by praising the gospel, but by obeying the gospel.

  42. The Glorious Home of the Soul • C. “But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb's Book of Life.” Rev. 21:27.

  43. The Glorious Home of the Soul • D. Therefore, the Glorious Heavenly Home is that place where the Glorious Father, the Glorious Son and His glorious people will live forever.

  44. The Glorious Home of the Soul • E. “Having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better.” Phil. 1:23. Do we talk this way or do we only seek the glorious things of this life?
