The Magna Carta (1215) How important is this document to Great Britain and subsequently to the United States? “…we will not deny or defer to any man either justice or right.” It lay the foundation for an orderly society with rights. It is embedded in the supremacy clause of the U.S. Constitution. So what was this Magna Carta? Isn’t it a Latin term?
