These Forces are unbalanced because the Fnet is greater than 0 and it is accelerating because it is moving and a non-constant speed.

The brick is balanced because the Fnet is 0 and it is not accelerating because it is moving at a constant speed.


Modification

  • Our modification is a series of colored pencils, spaced out just enough so the frictionless platform that rolls over the pencils can get over without any stopping or falling over.

  • We eliminated the friction between the floor and the fridge by using pencils that roll easily.

Was our modification successful

  • Yes, our modification was successful. We made our Fa go from 4.5N to about .1N.

  • The fridge rolled over 1 meter of colored pencils with ease.
