  • 100: The study of past people, places, events

  • 200: The study of governing structures

  • 300: The study of mental processes and human behavior

  • 400: The study of the exchange of wealth

  • 500: The study of past cultures and how human groups have evolved, changed, and developed over time

Founders and Fields

  • 100: He is know as the father or the field of psychology and tested the “atoms of the mind” in psychology’s first experiment

  • 200: He is remembered by his stress of the unconscious mind and how sexual conflicts dictate behavior

  • 300: Maslow expedited this field of psychology which explores human need for growth and love

  • 400: She was the first woman to receive a degree in psychology

  • 500: She was denied a degree from Harvard but is remembered for catapulting women into psychology’s field of study

  • 100: Psychologists view these through observation; includes running, talking, smiling, etc.

  • 200: Psychologists try to define and record these; includes thoughts, feelings, beliefs, etc.

  • 300: A way the field psychology is viewed

  • 400: The idea that the mind is both conscious and unconscious

  • 500: The “I knew it all along” phenomena; the idea that after events occur, they seem obvious
