  4. Why it is Lane Stadium special to me? (Leigh Ann Matherley) Since both of my parents attended Virginia Tech, my family bleeds orange and maroon. We have 4 season football tickets, so I have been to Tech football games since I was 7. I love the atmosphere in Lane Stadium, and even though I have been going to the games for 11 years, I still get goose bumps when Enter Sandman plays. Jake Matherley

  5. Intimidating Atmosphere Lane stadium “only” seats 65,233 people yet it is one of the loudest stadiums in the nation. (HokieSports) Under Frank Beamer, the Hokies are 132-32-1, and 46-7 at home since joining the ACC. (HokieSports) The main reason for the amazing home field record is the hostile atmosphere created by the fans as Lane Stadium has been sold out 87 consecutive times. 6. Traditions of Lane One of the most well known traditions that is held in Lane Stadium is the playing of Enter Sandman before the start of the game. There is also a piece of lucky Hokie stone all the players touch in the tunnel before they run out on the field. Virginia Tech Enter Sandman Entrance - YouTube Jake Matherley

  7. Home Field Advantage As you can see in the graph Tech’s home field advantage is obvious. Lane Stadium is home to some of the most loyal fans who really take their football seriously. If you have your voice after a Tech game you aren’t loud enough. (HokieSports) Jake Matherley

  8. Fun Facts About Lane Stadium Lane Stadium stands at the highest altitudes amongst college football stadiums on the East coast and one of the highest altitudes in the whole country. This actually makes it easier to kick longer field goals and punts which could of attributed to Beamerball. (Sporacle) Virginia Tech’s football stadium was actually named Miles Stadium until the construction of Lane in April of 1964. (HokieSports) Lane Stadium is named after Edward Hudson Lane. (HokieSports) The last time UVA has beat Tech in Lane Stadium was in 1998. (HokieSports) (Moseley Architects) Jake Matherley

  10. Feedback • I thought this was a good assignment that gave me a good review on the different features of PowerPoint. • I didn’t have many problems with implementing any of the features because I took a IT fundamentals class in high school. Jake Matherley
