  2. The Beginning In the woods, while he was hunting, King Arthur was asked to solve a riddle in a year and one day. If he doesn’t Sir Gromer will kill him.

  3. ? The Riddle The riddle was “What is it that women desire most, above all else?”

  4. Solution? The King traveled all around the world, asking women what the thought.

  5. Time Eventually, his time ran out. On the last day, a women came to him saying she could solve the riddle.

  6. Solved? She said in order for her to tell him she would have to marry Sir Gawain, which the king agreed to.

  7. The Wedding Once their wedding day approached, Sir Gawain showed no bitter feelings towards her. He treated her as if she was beautiful.

  8. Marriage Once they were married, she became beautiful, telling she said her brother had enchanted her. Sir Gawain was given a choice between being beautiful by day and ugly by night or vice-versa.

  9. Answer He said it was her decision, so she instantly became beautiful forever.

  10. Happily Ever After So they all lived happily ever after.

  11. Response! The answer to the riddle was “Women desire sovereignty, to be able to rule their own lives.”
