  1. Bell Work • 100 people were surveyed for their favorite fast-food restaurant. Write your answers as fractions in simplest form. • 1. What is the probability that a person likes Wendy’s? • 2. What is the probability that a person picked is a male? • 3. What is the probability that a person likes McDonald’s or Burger King? 35/100=7/20 45/100 = 9/20 65/100 = 13/20

  2. Is this independent or dependent? • If we toss two coins, what is the probability of getting two heads? Make a tree diagram. • What is the probability if getting at least one tails? ¼ 3/4

  3. A box contains three glazed doughnuts, four jelly doughnuts and five chocolate doughnuts. If a person selects a doughnut at random, find the probability that it is either a glazed doughnut or a chocolate doughnut. P(glazed or chocolate) = P(glazed) + P(chocolate) = (3/12) + (5/12) = 8/12=2/3

  4. You pick a crayon from a box with choice of red, yellow, or blue. What isthe probability of picking a red crayon and rolling a 5? This can be illustrated using a tree diagram to get a better understanding. =

  5. Karen spun a spinner 50 times and recorded her results in the table below. The spinner had five numbered sections. What is the theoretical probability of landing on a 1? What is the theoretical probability of landing on an even number? What is the experimental probability of landing on a 2?

  6. Skills Check! When you finish turn your paper over, put it in the corner of your desk. For Fun: Challenge probability worksheet
