  3. 2. Nefarious – adj. • Corrupt or vicious • Synonym = villainous • Sentence = The nefarious man frightened everyone.

  4. 3. Heinous – adj. • Terrible and shocking • Synonym = monstrous • Sentence = The crime was so heinous even the police were shocked.

  5. 4. Sublime – adj. • Amazingly wonderful • Synonym = splendid • Sentence = The weather on the island was sublime.

  6. 5. Steadfast – adj. • Firm and steady or not changing • Synonym = loyal • Sentence = We are steadfast supporters of our team.

  7. 6. Aloof – adj. • Distant and not friendly • Antonym = extroverted • Synonym = conceited • Sentence = Sally is so aloof that no one gets a chance to know her.

  8. 7. Volatile – adj. • Rapid mood changes • Synonym = excitable or moody • Sentence = Theo’s volatile temper made his friends uneasy.
