  2. Protect Your Students • Monitor Internet usage • Use content blockers to protect them from offensive content • Filter and monitor their e-mail • Find out who they interact with online

  3. Monitor Internet Usage The Internet can be a dangerous place for children of school age. Be sure to pay attention to what they are doing on the Internet and be prepared to intervene if you see anything suspicious.

  4. Use Content Blockers Content blockers are a powerful and useful tool that allows you to set the level at which offensive materials are blocked. This level can be protected with a password.

  5. Filter E-mail E-mail is a pathway for offensive and dangerous content. Make sure if you allow your students to use e-mail that all is filtered first before they read it. If possible filter all Spam and encourage students not to give out their address

  6. Find Out Who They Interact With Make sure you have an active role in who they are talking to in chat rooms and through Instant Messengers. Block any inappropriate contacts. Make sure Children never give out personal information over the internet regardless of who it appears they are talking with.
