  4. How? By filling 5,000 buckets These items will offer comfort and compassion to people in Africa suffering from HIV-AIDS.

  5. Why Buckets? Baptist Global Response (BGR) has found that sharing a five-gallon ‘bucket of love’ is a very effective way to open doors to the Gospel with people who are sick and dying.

  6. Why Sub-Saharan Africa? • Sub-Sahara Africa has more cases of HIV-AIDS than any other region of the world • Over 1 million people will die of AIDS in Africa this year • The AIDS pandemic has orphaned over 16 million children across Africa • There are over 12 million child-headed homes in Sub-Saharan Africa

  7. Many of these are facing death without the Hope of Jesus Christ

  8. Jesus taught,“I was sick and you took care of me…”(Matthew 25)

  9. Items found in the bucket provide comfort to the patient and give compassionate aid to the caregiver(s) One kit costs around $85
