  2. Seton Hall • When I was little I used to watch the Seton Hall basketball games with my dad, as he is a huge Pirates fan! • As a senior in high school, I had not really considered Seton Hall since it was so close to home, but after visiting and learning about their amazing Elementary and Special Education program, I knew the school was best fit for me!

  3. Family • My parents are Elizabeth and Robert Gilroy • Mom is a customer service representative for Delta Dental of New Jersey • Dad owns his own plumbing and heating business, Superior Plumbing • I have a sister Patricia who is a freshman at Hanover Park High School, and a brother Kevin who is in fourth grade. • I am also very close with many of my cousins, aunts & uncles, as well as my grandparents.

  4. My Roots • I was born at Saint Barnabas Hospital in Livingston, New Jersey. • Until the age of eight, I lived in West Orange, New Jersey. I attended Pleasantdale Elementary School. • I then moved to East Hanover, New Jersey and started fourth grade at Central Elementary School. • I loved high school as I attended Hanover Park High School which students from East Hanover and Florham Park attend. I had an awesome high school experience as my high school campus was set up like a college. I am still really close with many of my classmates as the class sizes are not large.

  5. Fun Time • Since I commute to school this semester, I like to visit my friends from high school on different weekends by taking road trips to their colleges! I love spending time and catching up with them one on one. I also get the college experience, with the ability to go home after getting a small dose of dorming. • I am a HUGE New York Yankee fan and attend many games every season. Last season my friend and I splurged and bought seats just off the field. Mark Teixeira waved to me! • One last thing I like to do for fun, is work. I know it sounds surprising, but I love my job and I put my all into it. I work for an after-care program that is also a summer camp program in East Hanover and I love all of the children so much!

  6. Road Blocks • As a child I had a terrible experience with loss. At the age of two I lost my younger sister, Melissa, as she was born premature. In first grade I lost my younger brother, Robert, as he had heart complications as a baby. At such young ages it was tough for me to grasp the idea of death and losing loved ones, but with the help of my family I was able to get through it. • I was very close with my grandpa, and in my sophomore year of high school he passed away. It sent me into an emotional downward spiral because I had losing anything dear to me. I cut ties with a lot of my friends for a while because I wanted to be alone. My family and friends supported me and got me through the extremely tough time. • This past summer I was extremely emotional because I realized that my friends and I were all going our separate ways for out first semester of college. It was tough to spend four months apart from the people that you regularly go to for advice on every decision. My first semester was definitely tough since I constantly wanted to be with my friends from high school.

  7. The Future • Three years from now… • I plan on being a senior at Seton Hall University working towards completing my degrees in Elementary and Special Education as well as Environmental Studies with a minor in Mathematics. • 5 years from now… • I plan on having a job at either an elementary school as a teacher or a middle school as a math or science teacher. I want to be moved out of my parent’s house at this point and looking towards settling down. • 10 years from now… • By now I plan on having a significant other in which I am either already married to, or planning on marrying him in the near future. As for my career, I still plan on working in either an elementary or middle school classroom giving all children in my classroom an exceptional education.
