  2. MY • MON = possesses a masculine, singular noun • MA = possesses a feminine, singular noun • MES = possesses a plural noun, gender neutral Examples: Elle aime mon frère. J’aime ma maison. Tu écoutes mes CD.

  3. YOUR (singular/informal) • TON = possesses a masculine, singular noun • TA = possesses a feminine, singular noun • TES = possesses a plural noun, gender neutral Examples: Tu as ton livre? Il parle a ta mère. Nous regardons tes vidéos.

  4. HIS/HER’S/IT’S • SON = possesses a masculine, singular noun • SA = possesses a feminine, singular noun • SES = possesses a plural noun, gender neutral Examples: Elle joue avec son chien. Il rigole avec savoisine. Ellesparlent avec sesami(e)s.

  5. OUR • NOTRE= possesses a masculine or feminine singular noun • NOS= possesses a plural noun, gender neutral Examples: Elle parle a notre père. Nous arrivons a notre école. Nous achetons nos livres.

  6. YOUR (plural or formal) • VOTRE= possesses a masculine or feminine singular noun • VOS= possesses a plural noun, gender neutral Examples: Vousaimezvotrecours de francais? Nous regardonsvotre television. Il aimevos parents.

  7. THEIR • LEUR= possesses a masculine or feminine singular noun • LEURS= possesses a plural noun, gender neutral Examples: Ilsjouent avec leurami. Tu arrives a leurmaison. Elleshabitent avec leursgrands-parents.

  8. NOTE!!! • Before a noun that begins with a vowel or vowel sound, you use MON, TON or SON, regardless of gender!!! e.g. • Il aime son amie. • Tu arrives a ton école.

  9. SUPER NOTE!!!! • The possessive adjective agrees with the NOUN following it, not the subject preceeding it!
