  2. TONIGHT’S OBJECTIVES • Understand the main objective. • Understand the planning process. • Understand YOUR contribution / role. • Understand what will be required of you and your School Council / School. • Reality Check: Understand the current state.

  3. TONIGHT’S AGENDA • Sheldon and Ian will give you a snapshot of the current reality. • Miriam will lead you through a review of what you’ve heard (yes, there’s a TEST!). • Miriam will give you instructions for gathering input.

  4. THE MAIN OBJECTIVE Improve the success rate of the student.

  5. THE PLANNING PROCESS • Good plans use ideas and contributions from all sources. • Some of our best ideas and input will come from parents, the community, students, teachers, principals, etc. • ROLES: Decisions are made by the board and administration – recommendations are made through this input process.

  6. THE PLANNING PROCESS We need everyone’s wisdom for the most meaningful results.

  7. YOUR CONTRIBUTION We need you to go back to your parents, schools, and communities and capture their wisdom and ideas and SHARE IT.

  10. TIMELINE • TONIGHT: Reality Check, Process • NOVEMBER – DECEMBER 12: Gather feedback and develop recommendations. • DECEMBER 12: Submit recommendations. • JANUARY 15: Share your ideas. Review all recommendations. Choose priorities. • AFTER JANUARY 15: Administration and Board to review recommendations and make decisions and allocations.
