  7. Prophetic Gift A. How do the Bible and prophetic guidance help people move through crises? Luke 24:13-17 • The disciples experienced their great disappointment at the Crucifixion. • After more than 3 years with Jesus, they still didn’t understand what the Scriptures had taught. Jesus pointed them to the Bible.

  8. Prophetic Gift B. How do the Bible and prophetic guidance help early Adventist through crises? • The early Adventist believers also experienced a great disappointment. With much study of the Bible they understood the sanctuary truth • The strength and certainty of what we believe as SDAs must be based on the Word of God alone

  9. Prophetic Gift C. How can we ensure that the Bible remains the foundation of our doctrine and practice? John 5:39 • The biblical authors from Moses to Apostle John directed their readers to Jesus • EGW consistently pointed people to their Savior Jesus Christ

Matt. 23:28-31 • Despite all the evidence for the integrity and validity of EGW’s ministry, there those who are spilling “the blood of the prophets.” • Opposition is due to lack of knowledge about prophetic gift

  12. Bible & SOP Books B. How can we ensure that the Bible remains the foundation of our doctrines and practice? Acts 17:11 • EGW encouraged church members to study it • “The Bible is the medium of communication between God and man.”—EGW, GC, p. 69
