Skills Listening Skills • Identifying Larger Numbers 在听力中,通常数字涉及的内容主要有:年代、 年龄、日期、时间、价格、数量、房号,电话号码、尺寸、大小等。通常听力中不会有太大的数字,一般到千位、万位。如:3,500—three thousand and five hundred; 12,000—twelve thousand。但如果在听力中遇到较大的数字,要注意数字的正规写法,从个位数往前,每三位数一个间隔,用逗号分开。特别要注意英汉在数字读法上的不同,英语中千(thousand),百万(million),十亿(billion),无专门表示万,十万,千万和亿的词。细心点可发现,这三个词正好符合中间逗号的位置。因此,正确听写数字的方法为: • 1、听到英语数字,特别是较大的,不能把它翻译为中文,否则速度较慢,易出错。 • 2、听到什么数字,就写什么数字。听到千(thousand),百万(million),十亿(billion)三词中的任何一个,即标上(,),每个逗号后必须有三个数字,缺位数补零。
