  4. Point-Slope Form When the slope and a point on the line are known, we can use thepoint-slope form to determine the line. where m is the slope of the line and (x1, y1) is a specific point on the line. Example: point (1, 4) and slope = -3:

  5. Parallel Lines Two lines are parallel when they have the same slope. Any two vertical lines are parallel to each other. m1 = m2

  6. m1 = -1 m2 Perpendicular Lines Two lines are perpendicular when their slopes are negative reciprocals. Any vertical line is perpendicular to any horizontal line.
