Cajun Culture. Acadian History. The Original Acadians lived in Canada in a place called Nova Scotia They spoke French and were hunters and fishers. Acadian History. During the Seven Years war the British began forcing Acadians to leave Nova Scotia. This is called “The Great Upheaval”.

  3. Acadian History • During the Seven Years war the British began forcing Acadians to leave Nova Scotia. • This is called “The Great Upheaval”.

  4. Acadian History • Many Acadians came to live in Louisiana. • Louisiana was a good choice because there was a French Government and many places to hunt and fish.

  5. Acadian History • The Acadian People settled in South West Louisiana in an area with many swamps, marshes, and bayous.

  6. Cajun Culture • Cajun people have influenced the culture of Louisiana. • Cajun foods like boudin, boiled crawfish, and crawfish etouffeeare very popular.

  8. Cajun Culture • Many Cajun people spoke French • They are known for their fishing culture • Many Cajun people are Catholic
