  2. The God of the plan • It matters more who holds the plan than what the plan is. • He has the plan, we seek Him. (Jeremiah 29:11-13) • Who is your God?

  3. Does this ring true? • I read a book once called “your God is too small,” by J.B. Phillips. I would suggest that it’s more than that. I suggest your view of God is too small, too fickle, too weak, too limp and lifeless, too distant, too uncompassionate and disinterested, too impotent, too human and too vague. You judge Him, you ignore Him, you run away or throw blame and you think there are aspects of your life unknown to Him or of little interest. Your God is wet and useless.

  4. Getting an understanding of God • God’s attributes are compound • God does not change • God is relational, His attributes can be experienced. • Your view of God defines everything else you believe.

  5. God’s Attributes • Attributes of Magnitude (including infinitude,eternality, the omnis, measures of power and measure of glory) • Attributes of Perfection (including justice, light, holiness, purity and goodness) • Attributes of Compassion (including love, grace, mercy, forgiveness, jealousy and intimacy)

  6. It’s this God that holds the plan • Ephesians 1:11: • In Himwe were also chosen,having been predestined according to the plan of Himwho works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will.
